I know I started a blog and I tried to get an interview with Nintendo Canada. Its impossible heck Sony Canada contacted me for an e-interview without me even asking. But Nintendo was a no go, I didn't even get a response. They made it impossible to contact Nintendo Canada, I got no help from anyone and eventually gave up.
If they indeed got this interview it would have likely been with a noob in the customer service department who as others say "Spoke out his A hole". Though I must admit the royaltees Nintendo makes off of WiiWare is probubly very good. WiiWare also sells for more then VC games. Though I think that Nintendo probubly still profits immensley from VC titles.
I think the real reason we don't see as much VC software is simple. Nintendo doesn't want to flood the market, if their is a back log of WiiWare they want to please their third party supporters. This goal of improving third party support is probubly also why we are seeing less first party software hitting VC and more content from third parties!
