Actually, I'd argue that, as the lead platform, the Genesis rev (like Madden and NHL) actual play and control better (read: faster and tighter) on the Genesis, even if it isn't as quite as colorful. (The SNES rev is also missing an entire level and features some animation cuts from the Genesis version.)
So unless your entire argument hinges on the richer color palette of the SNES (and, perhaps, better music, but not better SE) the Genesis rev is actually the better version.
