This blog seems to conflict a Nintendo exec on Wired.
Wired.com: Some gamers have complained about the lack of offerings on the Virtual Console. Has that taken a backseat?
Kaigler: We’ve got the Nintendo downloads that we announce every Monday. There’s at least one VC title in that announcement. We’re making sure we put VC titles out. Not every title can be a VC title. Not every game that I grew up with, and others in my generation grew up with, will be made for the Wii. It just depends. We don’t do it just to do it, we do it if the experience can be enhanced by offering it on the Wii.

I would take the word over a Nintendo exec over a virtually-unknown blog. Plus, Nintendo -- like many companies -- says NO until it is ready to announce YES.
