| Reasonable said: This was Sony's tactic to combat timed exclusives. As I understand it, in most cases if something is timed for 360 then to appear on PS3 is has to have new stuff. The logic, I presume, is to balance getting something first vs getting more if you wait. It also implies that the early 360 version may end up the inferior version. I suppose after another wait some stuff might swing back to 360 again but I would expect that to be on a title by title basis. Personally I think timed exclusives are a bad idea - full on exclusives, sure, such as Halo, Killzone, etc. - but timed exclusives in no way are good from a consumer viewpoint. |
Well I'm sure that this is not Sony's idea, because it's the same with later appearing PC ports (Gears of War, Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5 ASO)
I agree it's a bad idea and they should focus in making a new (and this time multiplat) game rather than porting the old one with a few extras.
Another thing is that those "extras" are often times not even worth 5 bucks....
