I take my GC all over the house whereas my Wii is tethered to a particular TV set. Microsoft and Sony are about to do the same for their consoles, except their general user is much more wanting to move things around and play on the road.
Think about it.

I don't know what your problem is. I also used my GC mobile all the time. I even bought a special GC bag. Than I switched to the Wii and also travel with it all the time. I even use the same GC bag for it. The Wii itself is smaller and there is enough space for 2 Wiimotes and Nunchucks. (I only had space for one GC-controller earlier ...)

If you are somewhere with a TV that you can plug into for display, that's fine.
But to play in the car on a portable screen -- or somewhere without a TV -- it is really difficult to do that. Even though Intec makes a 7-inch screen for the Wii, I can't imagine playing on one.
Maybe it is just me. But it sees that motion will lock consoles down more than they have been in the past. Just my thoughts. Any thoughts?

Okay, now I understand your point. This doesn't affects all games, but for games which rely on motion of the player you are totally right. Luckily I have enough room and a TV on the places, where I want to play.
