Nintendo could have won easily had they not made the mistakes they made in the fifth gen.

If Nintendo had made the 64 optical based instead of cartridge based, they could of made full use of the system with more capacity on the discs.

Not entirely correct... the N64 had other hardware problems and mishaps too...
