It would be hilarious if those people did actually send IGN their credit card number, social security number, mother's maiden name, and all of that 
Even worse are the statements which are completely wrong, because they sound confident in themselves.
-God of War III is coming to 360 (yes, I've heard this too)
-GTA IV was banned in Japan (a couple of months ago, this was)
-I played God of War on the Xbox (yeah, sure- he also claimed to have done this before God of War even launched)
And quite a few more, from different people. It's more amusing than anything else.
