Are you kidding? They're not reviewing for a hardcore audience because they penalize it for lack of online. They wouldn't be doing readers justice for not taking a feature that should already be mandatory in all multiplayer games.
And I imagine that Wii owners would have voted "didn't care at all" because the major games don't put a whole lot of effort into their online offerings.

You should have an option to do both.
Online gaming is a feature that every console and handheld supports and it's ridicoulous and entirely lazy for a developer to not include online mutliplayer for a multiplayer based game. Your post really shows how bad it is.
You'd hope as gaming grows that they'd be able to include very basic features found in their compeitition.
