Prime 3 is the weakest because like Fusion it was fairly linear (which I hate in Metroids) and for the most part had very bland and boring bosses. Which is not to say it's a complete waste of time, mind you: it's still a damned fine game. And it had some spectacular moments. But the only reason I do rate it above Prime 2 is that its controls are so great. Of course, once the other two get those same controls...
Prime 2 gets slammed because it did some things very, very wrong, but it was still a better game overall than Corruption. When you play it, stick with it: the beginning is off-putting, but it continues to improve until the end. The last area in particular was a real treat. Now if only they made the rest of the game have that quality...
