Excellent point.  We should also remember that it's hard to compare prices.  Our European friends pay VAT on purchases all year and don't have income taxes sucked from their paychecks, so we should keep that fact in mind. 

Actually we pay both VAT and income tax

And to add to that, both are with bigger % than in the US.
