Week ending the 05/jul/2009
A strong wave of new releases kicks off July with something for gamers of all ages, whether they’re fans of magical adventures or Wild West shootouts.
EA’s Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince is perhaps the biggest arrival this week. Debuting alongside the new movie, the game allows fans to relive Potter’s penultimate outing.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft’s Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood shakes up the FPS genre by taking gamers to the Wild West, where they must desert their post in American Civil War and try to save their home town.
Also out this week is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (EA), Summer Sports Party (Ubisoft) and Moon (Rising Star Games).

‘Fight Night Round 4’ is the champion of the All Formats Chart for a second week as another EA Sports title ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ fails to land the knockout blow, debuting at No2.
There are now 5 EA Sports games in the All Formats Top 20 covering boxing, golf, tennis, fitness and football. However, it is ‘Fight Night Round 4’ which is proving by far the most popular and despite a 35% drop in sales it still manages to outsell Tiger Woods (new this week on PS3, XB360, Wii MotionPlus, PSP and PS2) by 1.64 to 1.
Activision’s ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ (+30%) shifts up from No6 to No3 in its second week of release, ahead of ‘Wii Fit’ (-2%) and ‘UFC 2009: Undisputed’ (-3%) both non-movers at No’s 4 and 5 respectively.
There are a total of 3 new games in the All Formats Top 10 with Ubisoft’s ‘Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood’ riding into town at No6 and ‘EA’s ‘Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince’ conjuring up a modest debut at No10.
‘The Sims 3’ (-21%) falls 4 places to No7, while another previous All Formats No1, Activision’s ‘Prototype’ (-34%) also drops, slipping 6 places to No8.
As Wimbledon draws to a close Sega’s ‘Virtua Tennis 2009’ (+8%) remains in the Top 10 at No9, while competitor ‘Grand Slam Tennis’ (+6%) from EA, holds on to No11.
