I had the same thought as you just recently (placing The Wind Waker before OOT), that is before I finished the game just recently and with a lot more understanding of what was going on. Last time I played the game, I didn't really care about the universe of the characters, I only wanted to get the items and stuff (and I didn't understand English much). The game has so much backstory and detail that you really notice that Miyamoto was at the peak of his career. I mean it's crazy what he's done with this game. The pace was perfect and at the same time it didn't hold your hand like most new Zelda games (seriously, now you do the temples in a certain way instead of deciding which one you want to tackle first)... and the ending... Wow! o_O And yeah, Ganondorf appearing in TP was pretty random. I replayed the game recently, and I still don't understand if he's THE Ganondorf from the Seal War or not. He seems like a random badass thief with the name Ganondorf... with the Triforce of Power... Which doesn't make much sense. |
I did do that recently. I did the same with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. One nice touch in Wind Waker, I thought, is that, you know the three pearls you're supposed to place in the statues, so they form a triangle and then bring that huge tower up? If you look at the map placement, the places you put those pearls are pretty similar to where you find them during A Link to the Past.
