I think this is just the start of YOY declines for the Wii.

Demand has obviously dropped for the Wii this year (at least at its current price) and Nintendo so far seems to be unwilling to drop price. Add to that a relatively weak lineup for the rest of the year (except in Japan but it's hard to imagine it'll be able to make up for what appears to be a large declines in North America and Europe).

Next year they have their core franchises which are basically aimed at the same people that bought Brawl, SMG, etc. There's nothing on the horizon (at least that they've shown) that will have the same impact as Wii Fit or Wii Sports and take off like wildfire to continue what was an unparalleled level of sales.

The year after will see competition in their Blue Ocean from Project Natal and Sony's motion controller, something that they haven't had to worry about at all up until now. It's hard to imagine the Wii gaining sales when they're facing competition in areas they never had to before.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's the end for the Wii, just that it may not be as dominant as some people have written it off to be.

Simply priceless...
