This thought process needs to cease to exist. Video games are not for kids. Games are made to appeal to certain demographics, with kids being the dominant one.

So you say that this thought process needs to cease to exist but then say basically the exact same thing later in your own post?  

Most video games are targeted towards children, but that does not make video game only for children.

Candy is also targeted at kids, but that doesn't make candy for kids.

Yes, but there is a difference in adults enjoying games targeted at children and adults enjoying games that are targeting adults.
