Sony consoles have had increasing lifecycles. The PS1 was on the market for 5 years before the PS2 launched (and 6 years afterwards), the PS2 for 6 years before the PS3 (and three years afterwards to date), so will the PS3 be on the market for 7 years without a successor?

A while back, Sony said that they intended to launch the PS9 in 2072.

Do you believe this? I say it's possible, but I doubt it. I predict:

PS1: 1995

PS2: 2000

PS3: 2006

PS4: 2013

PS5: 2020

PS6: 2028

PS7: 2036

PS8: 2045

PS9: 2055

PS10: 2066

PS11: 2078

PS12: 2090

PS Century (Or PS 2100, they'll want to avoid PS13): 2100.

This is, of course, assuming that Sony continues to create consoles for the next century. What do you think?
