Not sure why so many think Halo 3 is GOTY material...it's just an evolution of the previous games...
Same argument could go for Mario Galaxy...but I think the planetary levels as well as all the new stuff...as well as the old makes it fresh and certainly GOTY material.
Just my opinion though...

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
