Yes, Gamespot hates the Wii.

Jeez, give it up already. Sometimes games just aren't as good as some expect them to be. I am so sick of this "Reviewers hate the Wii" garbage. It is childish and it looks even worse when people say things like "Wow! Awesome!" when the same site rates a game like Tiger Woods 10 high.

If Gamespot rated The Conduit 10/10 I would be seeing "I Love Gamespot" in sigs and avatars. Either that or the usual "Eh, just rating it high so people don't think they are biased". -.-

Sorry, but as I said, some games just do not live up to the hype. It happens, all the time, all year long, since way back when I was a kid.

Out of the hundreds of Wii reviews from Gamespot, you have what, 15ish there?

 

Sorry, but they are biased against the Wii. This game is quite good. Generic? No more than any other FPS out there on the market that has aliens, and guns.

 

Best fps controls ever in the history of videogames, and they focus on the fact that this doesn't have a revolutionary plot line, and somewhat straight foreward level design. (No more straight forward than Call of Duty: World at War, btw, which they raved about.)

 

And Gobias, have you considered for a second that many of us have been playing the game, and know what we're talking about?

So in order for a site to be reputable they must rate 30-50% of all released titles at 85% or higher?

I think it is more of you being biased than it is them.

 

If not, then I guess Gamespot is just biased against gaming.

 

Seriously, take the time to browse through the site, look at the review listings for all current gen console and then come back here and let me know how how it looks for those consoles as well.

You also really think a game should get rated extremely high because it controls great? Well guess what, I have plenty of games that control great, but if they just aren't very fun I couldn't really care less.

Fun > Controls  any day of the week.

Game also wasn't just rated down for having "aliens and guns". Ever think that "Hey! This is 2009. Why do my enemies react only with side strafing and ducking?". Why no using cover and peaking out? Why not position themselves around me and flank me?

Or should Wii get treated different and not lose points for that?

If so, then why ever compare Wii/360/PS3 sales if you can't compare games fairly?

 

As for your question to Gobias. Ever considered that some of us have also played the game and also know what we are talking about?

You really think that because you think it is great that everyone will think it is great? Hell I think SaGa Frontier is one of the greatest games I have ever played but it has an aggregated score of 67. Either people are biased against it or they didn't take time to consider that I MYSELF have played and I MYSELF know what I am talking about.

If they are playing them, then I guess they do know what they are talking about (see your quote) and I guess it also means that their review is justified.
