I mean.  For comparison Final Fantasy 3 on the DS sold over 180,000 first week.

And that was the bad FF3.

FF7 was download only, plus this is only NA sales. FF3 did 120k opening week in NA. On a larger userbase (it does matter, to a certain extent), and download only. And FF3 was technically a remake, wasn't it?
