Alright guys. With TalonMan's introduction of Cheat Requests. We're undoubtedly going to be encountering alot of requests regarding Achievements and Trophies. It's my plan to hit these requests before they are even made. As of such I am starting up a User Committee which is dedicated into making easy, one-stop guides to Achievements and Trophies. No separating the achievements and trophies, no splitting them up by Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or by Gamerscore. Just a big list of all the achievements or trophies and a brief guide in how to unlock them.

This is mainly for improving the website as a whole. We are responsible members of the community have a obligation to our community to make it grow and flourish. Our administrative staff has given us the tools to do so, but without help from the community as a whole. Growth will be slow and there are many things we may want to see that may never see the light of day.

So this is a request for members of the community to join this committee so that we may begin to develop and prosper the VGChartz community in a organized and planned out fashion.

As stated before, Members will be focusing efforts on the cheats sections of games. However, in order to ensure the highest quality and standards of practice. I will like to request a few ground rules on potential members of this committee.

  • Write your own work! Do not copy from GameFAQs or any other website on their guides to achievements. We are representing VGChartz, not GameFAQs, IGN, or anyone else.
  • Be detailed. Many Achievements or Trophies are easy. Those that are somewhat difficult or hard, please be sure to detail them a bit more as to not leave people asking questions or bugging you about "X" achievement or Trophy as it wasn't explained well enough.
  • Own the game and complete at least 75% of the total Achievements or Trophies. This 75% is on a per-game basis. For example, if I have 75% or more of the achievements or trophies in fable but do not have them in another game IE Chromehounds. Then I can write up a guide on fable, but not Chromehounds. It's easy to research and write down what you've read about these achievements or trophies, however to ensure the highest quality in our cheats section. I want to see people who have played the games themselves and hold at least 75% of the total achievements or Trophies with a good understanding of how to obtain the rest.
  • Use a Good Format. I'll be providing you with my Mass Effect Achievement Guide, as somewhat of a Template as well as a Blank Template you can copy and paste in order to provide viewers with easily read and similar experiences as they move from game to game cheats.

While not required, I do highly recommend...

  • Have VGC IM, VGC IM can greatly speed up any interactions and discussions the committee may have. Such as questions, concerns, or statements they'll like to make. I'll be making a VGC Cheat Committee room in VGC IM and maintaining it so-long as I am online in order to contribute this effort.

So long as you can abide by these 4 simple rules, then I have no problem inviting you to join our committee to help the growth of VGChartz. You also happen to be able to earn quite a bit of VGC$ by helping out as well.

TalonMan also included a brief message that I will relay upon the you incase you're unaware of a few things about Cheat Requests

"The items listed in this queue are generated from users (whether registered on the site or guests) looking for help in specific games. Entries will contain a a cheat type they are most looking for as well as some detailed information as to what they are stuck on. The purpose here is to help the community focus on adding cheats and FAQs that are most desired.

If you come across a request that you think you are able to answer, please feel free to go to the specified game page and enter either a Cheat or FAQ in the designated tabs. Once your entry is approved by an admin, the request will be cleared from the queue and the requester will receive notification that you've fulfilled their request."

Cheat Requests

FAQs -

  • What are VGChartz's Cheats?

- Cheats are VGChartz's walkthoughs, guides, and any sort of helpful tips and tricks that players may feel the need to ask while playing though a game. Since there are so many different questions that may be asked. I plan to attempt to expand the database by adding achievements and trophies onto the list.

  • What are Cheat Requests

- Both members and quests are permitted to ask the community for tips on how to complete aspects of games. Whenever they do, you get that Cheat Requests notification next to your avatar on the top-right hand of your screen.

  • Why form a committee?

- Because I believe the best effort is one that is coordinated and planned out. A committee helps strengthen our bonds together as a community and allows us to strive quicker and more effectively towards a singular goal.

  • What about Multiplayer Achievements? Do I need to have them to hit the 75% Mark?

- Due to Multiplayer being fairly difficult subject in order to write achievement guides for, or in cases that people simply do not have Xbox Live Gold or a Internet connection of which to play Multiplayer Matches with. I can easily understand if you do not have them and without them you fall under the 75% mark.

  • How descriptive do I have to be with Achievements?

- If you’re writing an Achievement Guide, write as if you’re writing for Achievements only. So for example, if I was writing a Fallout 3 Achievement Guide where a large portion of quests are completed by simply following the main storyline quest. I would describe it as so.

“Complete “Oasis” Quest, given to you from “X, X, and X” Locations.

That way I can describe how to get the achievement without spoiling any of the actual quests. If they want more information about completing the quest, or any further details aside from just getting the achievement. They will need to resort to a Walkthrough. Not an achievement guide.

As stated before, here is the partial Mass Effect Achievement Guide that I've made previously. It can be used as a Template. Feel free to Copy and Paste it however you like, and copy my methods.

NightstrikerX’s Achievement Guide – Mass Effect

Medal of Honor - Complete 1 Mass Effect Playthrough on any setting - 100G

- Simple Enough, Complete Mass Effect on any setting. I recommend Casual if your going though the game the first time. As you’ll be getting the other achievements as you go along and you’ll be needing those during later, more difficult playthoughs.

Medal of Heroism - Complete Feros - 25G

- Feros is one of the first three main quest planets you’ll have to go though. I recommend it after finding Liara, and before Noveria in terms of difficulty overall.

Distinguished Service Medal - Complete Eden Prime - 25G

- Eden Prime is the prelude planet and your very first mission. Go though the planet and you’ll finish it in no time netting you a quick and easy 25G.

Council Legion of Merit - Complete Virmire - 25G

- You’ll obtain the option to go to Virmire after completing 2 of the 3 main quest planets. (Feros, Noveria, Liara). I recommend visiting this planet last as it has substantial plot importance and having a high intimidate or charm skill is a must.

Honorarium of Corporate Service - Complete Noveria - 25G

- Noveria is one of the first three main quest planets you’ll have to go though. I recommend it last for both story and overall difficult reasoning.

Long Service Medal - Complete 2 Mass Effect Playthroughs on any setting - 25G

- Complete Mass Effect Twice. It’s a good idea to try getting the Distinguisted Combat Medal while doing this. Play though the game with a character you’ve already beaten the game with to try getting the Power Gamer Achievement at the same time.

Sniper Expert - Register 150 Sniper Rifle Kills - 15G

- Kill 150 things with Sniper Rifles, does not have to be enemies. You can kill the Gas Bags on Eden Prime and they’ll still count. Carries on though Careers. You don’t need to be trained in the skill to achieve this achievement.

Lift Mastery - Use biotic Lift 75 times - 15G

- Use Lift 75 times, does not have to have any target to count. Simply use the ability 75 times.

Scholar - Find all primary Alien: Council Races, Extinct Races and Non-Council Races codex entries - 25G

- A Easy achievement that is often missed. Here is a detailed guide on how to achieve the achievement before leaving for your first planet.

* On the Normandy

- Prothean -> Talk to Nihlus during your conversation with him and Captain Anderson aboard the ship just before Eden Prime.

* On Eden Prime

- Geth -> Talk to Ashley when you first meet her.

* On Citadel

- Volus-> As soon as you are on the Citadel go to the Presidium. In the Embassies, find the volus and elcor office and talk to ambassador Din Korlack.

- Elcor -> Talk to Embassador Calyn

- Rachni->Talk to Avina, next to the krogan statue. This completes the Aliens: Extinct Races.

- Hanar-> Talk to Opold, the hanar shopkeeper in the Emporium.

- Keepers-> Talk to Avina next to the keeper.

* Use Citadel Rapid Transport to go to the Citadel Towers

- Salarians -> Go to the hearing. This Completes the Aliens: Council Races in the Codex.

- Krogan -> Talk to Barla von in Financial District.

- Quarians -> Talk to Wrex in C-sec. Go and become a Spectre.

- Batarians -> Talk to Capt Anderson about past mission with Saren. Scholar achievement unlocked.

Completionist - Complete the majority of the game - 25G…

If you are considering joining, please remember that I do expect to see plenty of work coming out of you as there is a lot of games that need to be covered. Together as a community we can build a strong Game Database that is renowned internet over. But we can't do it by alone. We are strong together, but separated we stand to gain nothing.
