Yes, they are killing the Guitar Hero brand perhaps, in a way.
But on the other hand, as some have pointed out in this thread, music taste between people varies hugely in this age, so you really need to release games for each sub genre to please most people.
Like myself, I love heavy metal but none of the GH and Rokband song lineups so far have pleased me at all - until GH Metallica.
