Malstrom may be a smart guy, but he isn't exactly Warren Spector or Miyamoto when it comes to game design.
The random weather thing and level creation/sharing are his best ideas on there, and albeit good, they've been in several games already. The others either demand really heavy developer support ("handmade" new powerups and stages) or will end up being boring and VERY repetitive (aforementioned things generated randomly => a million differently colored Super Mushrooms). The idea about enemies retaking the stages actually requires you to stop playing the game for a lengthy period of time, which seems like a completely ass-backward approach to me.
