So why do we get Wii Fit plus / Mario Galaxy but no new Mario Kart?

I would totally go for a partial Mario Kart Wii update. Just a different selection of past tracks from what was in the full game (maybe even a couple of new tracks), which has some questionable inclusions and exclusions, and release it for 20-30 bucks.
