infamous did almost 250K first week (sold 175K according to NDP) for a new IP thats really good, Prototype will do less in my opinon, it's multiplat and it's a new IP if I'm not mistaken.

Hyped ? Infamous wasn't hyped at all, in fact, most people were surprised about the lack of Infamous hype before the game launched.

Well it sure seemed hyped to me.

Compared to any high quality exclusive games for any console, I think it received very little hype. Just think about Madworld, Killzone 2, The Conduit, LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War 2, Alan Wake etc... All those games received/are receiving a lot more hype than Infamous.

 

Over 200k sales first week is a very good number for a new IP that pretty much came out of nowhere.
