everyone goes through phases.
I suggest Valkyria Chronicles if you like turn based strategy games. VC takes a very interesting approach to the genre where while you control the characters it is more like a 3rd person action game. People who hate the demo typically like the game too, so long as you like strategy games.
Killzone 2 is another great choice if you like online gaming. KZ2 seems to be a bigger hit with non-FPS lovers. I play FPS games occasionally and I really like KZ2 online. The single player is ok, but they ramp the difficulty up way to far for the final battle.
