as it stands, to me support either blu-ray or hd-dvd seems completely pointless. You pay $250-$700+ for a player and you only get to watch a certain fraction of new movies in HD that come out. this is completely absurd as any joe sixpack can watch every movie available on BRD or HDDVD as it is also on dvd with his $15 dvd player, albeit not in HD.
every HD movie i watch at home is downloaded, converted and streamed to my ps3. until movie prices come down and selection is greatly increased i will simply watch hd dvd and blu ray rips.
