Lame.
Sorry, I was expecting more.
- Galaxy 2 is a no-brainer - basically a level pack.
- WiiFit+ is WiiFit 1.1
- Mario Bros Wii looked lame IMO - I'll get it, but it looks like someone rushed for a couple of weeks to slap it together. The Wii is capable (and deserves) so much more.
Pros:
- Metroid, esp Team Ninja was unexpected. I actually thought it looked cooler until I knew it was Metroid, but hey.
- Galaxy II - can't go wrong with more Galaxy (but not this year)
- WS:R looked cool
Cons:
- No Retro - again?
- No Zelda
- No Pikmin
- No new franchises
- No new hardware (sorry, the vitality thing does *not* count IMO)
- No Miyamoto
- Really don't like Cammie (why is she always scowling?)
- No surprises (apart from Metroid)
- No network/online functionality, nothing new there
- No slideshows of game compilations
- nothing outstanding for the DSi
- No surprise partnerships with Capcom, Konami, SQE, ...
- WS:R didn't look as cool as it could have
...
Looks to me, like Nintendo are playing it safe. They have this year sown up, and with the three potentially biggest Xmas sellers: WiiFit+, WiiSports, Wii MarioBros
...there is no need for them to do anything different.
I think they are also struggling to adapt their msg, now that MS & Sony have motion controllers - and since the marketing department upheaval in NOA.
...
In fact, I think this years E3 was *much worse* than last years from them. I sense a little desperation creeping in :P
