What MS showed today was about a hundred times more impressive than anything I've seen done with the Wii remote.

It doesn't matter if it only works with casual games. Wii Fit, Wii Sports and Mario Kart are what's selling the Wii and they can all be accomplished with this device.

If it costs anywhere under $100 and Microsoft advertise it smartly, Nintendo will have some competition.

Thank you for bringing up Mario Kart. I have said before that this game shows that Nintendo understands the value of physical objects. How many fewer copies would have sold had Nintendo not included the wheel? Invite your Wii-Sports only friends over to play Mario Kart and hand them the remote sideways and you aren't going to sell them on the game. People like to hold things. This is cool tech that has its place, but it is limited by more than just lack of buttons.
