People seem to think it's a crime for games to be linear nowadays. Everyone is looking for multiple endings, multiple paths etc. Movies are all linear but we still watch them multiple times. I've played ffxii(the awfully boring one) 3 times over. I didn't need multiple endings for motivation. I prefer straight forward storylines where all the effort goes into pushing that path not multiple half-assed paths. I'd also rather have 60 hours of playthrough in one storyline than play the game multiple times to get 60 hours because I want to see a different ending. |
Games can be linear. Any game that dons the name RPG should not be linear....because it is an RPG.
