It was far stronger than the PS2 and much more easy to develop for. Yet developers riddled it with substandard ports due to a smaller userbase and lack of moneyhats. The PS3 has a smaller usebase than its competitors, it is harder to develop for than its competitors, and more expensive to develop for than its competitors. So the most logical conclusion is that it will be more often than not subject to rushed and thus inferior multiplatform titles.
