They make 80-90% of their money outside Japan, E3 is the event to focus on. Nintendo would look weird saying at an American show "oh Wii Sports Resort releases June 10 in Japan"

True but it can't be just that.I also thinking thier going release news on some Japan only games to trigger consumer interests.
Because if it is really only to announce a date for resort it would a pretty unsound excuse to hold a conference.
