To the bolded part: Wouldn't it make more sense for Sony to manufacture a slim PS3 to replace the current model if they're losing money now? Smaller consoles mean less materials for the cooling, case etc. It may not seem like much but it all adds up. I remember when the PS3 first came out and people were doing estimates of the cost of the different components and the cooling unit came out relatively expensive.
OT: I agree with GOW III, Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain (LT). I doubt GT5 will manage 12 million, probably >8 million, but I doubt above 10. MAG being online only will probably limit sales although it'll probably break 1million and I seriously doubt Ratchet and Clank to do above 2 million based on the sales of the previous PS3 outing.
