Ok, you two snakes can keep going back and forth, but mentioning those games as a talking point against the PS3 really boils my skin. What games do you think make the Wii sell so well? Mario? Zelda? Metroid? Pikmin? Super Smash? Other staple 1st party game? I've said it before and I'll say it again: If those games were so great, why were the GCN and N64 in dead last in their respective generations? Those games' Wii iterations can't possibly be the selling point, so it has to be other games and the lure of the Wiimote that makes it sell. Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Wii Music, stuff like that are making it sell....but if you're going to talk up the Wii because of those games, and talk down about the PS3 because of the above mentioned games, you need a reality check

Oh please show me in this thread, or any thread, where I said those Wii iterations of franchise games are the reason Wii sells so well.  Please find it because Im, having difficulty doing so.

 

However, you've unwittingly helped my point.  If continued releases of the same old software are not what makes a console sell at great levels then his assertion that upcoming PS3 games will enhance sales greatly falls apart.

 

 

I guess I jumped the gun, but mocking that great lineup of games by bringing up PS3 saleshad to have you question why the Wii sells so well, right? Even the OP said that great software is what makes the hardware sell, and arguably, the only "great software" that the Wii has is the same games that had the GCN and N64 in last place. So it must be this new stuff that's making it sell...even though it doesn't compare to the PS3 or 360 lineups.

I'm thinking about 3 steps ahead...otherwise: why do you think the Wii sells so well, if the PS3 doesn't sell well, comparatively, with its' great games?
