Scoobes said: I'm in the UK and I saw an advert for Wii the other day and at the bottom of the screen it had the words "Console from £199.99". Now I'm pretty sure I got mine for £179.99. So pricecuts are bad, but price rises are good? lol. I know its due to the global recession and exchange rates but seriously, wtf? The Wii may be the only console to finish a gen more expensive then when it started! (and still sell wel, lol)
And yes, software is an important factor. However, just as important I feel is people actually knowing what software is on the system. There is no point in having great software if you don't have great advertising and Nintendo has nailed the advertising for Wii. |
I remember reading that Nintendo increased the price to match the sinking pound but the increase in cost didn't keep up compleetly. Meaning that the price difference wasn't fully compensated by the increase. So in a sense it's a bit cheaper.
Don't blame Nintendo for this, blame Gorden Brown.

I'll blame both as MS has kept the 360 as cheap as chips, and Sony have kept PS3 as expensive as a small black ferrari. But Gordon Brown is a mug and I blame him more than Nintendo.
