Graphically the game is nothing special. A white background with cartoon styled characters rolling around definitely won’t impress your typical console gamer. The simplicity though does make the game have its own personality which is a good thing.
The music in the game sadly can get annoying. The song playing sounds like something you would hear on Barney when he is traveling a long distance. It isn’t that the song is specifically bad though. For the first ten or twenty minutes the song can actually boost your enthusiasm to beat it and it is a catchy tone.
The puzzle elements mixed with the use of the sixaxis functionality makes the game play fun. Having to use the sixaxis to get the little creatures to open trap doors or make a platform that hits you places makes it all challenging as you have to figure out if you need to shake the controller or move it up and down. Trying to get all the way through all three stages with 60 LocoRocos is a task that will take you a while.
Overall the game is fun and worth the $6.99 that it costs.
My Ratings:
Graphics: 6/10 – simplistic but simplicity isn’t always a good thing when the background is plain.
Audio: 7/10 – catch tone for a bit till you want to shot yourself after an hour of hearing it.
Game play: 9/10 – its fun puzzle game
Replay Value: 7/10 – good game to go to when you have nothing to do
Overall: 7.2/10
