@Zuhyc

Did u just compare eternal sonata with Star Ocean!!!

I think he is right. I don't think a PS3 version of SO4 would outsell the 360 version, not in Japan or the rest of the world. Due to both the quality of the game turning some potential buyers off, the long delay between release (which means some people will already have turned to the Xbox 360) and also the shrinking home console market in Japan.

And even so, the quality of the port would also matter. If it's just a straight up port with no extras added or benefits of any kind, then it will certainly sell less then a game recieving the same treatment as ToV/ES did, and since SE have yet to do a port of the same kind this generation, it's hard to say what will happen.

I'd wait to see what Tales of Vesperia does. Both ToV and SO4 are big brands and have the potential to sell very well.

True. But I'm looking forward to buying ToV, while I currently don't give a shit about SO4, nor would I if it was given a straight up port to the PS3. So who knows...

Tales of Symphonia sold 320k on the Gamecube and the late port sold 400k on PS2.
