Honestly the only third party Nintendo should really court is Square-Enix. Nintendo + Square-Enix = big sales in Japan, and other Japanese devs follow suit.
The Wii gets quirkier third party games like Little King Story, Murumasa, Boom Blox Party and is getting good sports games from EA.
I don't see the problem honestly. The Wii third party is going to get a lot better in the next 6 months, just like the DS did over time (remember everyone said the DS' third party support sucked early on too, now it has tons of good-great third party games).
The PS3 and 360 need third party sales as platforms they wouldn't survive 6 months without third party support. The Wii is not in that position.
