but they also have physical assets that are worth more money than just their base worth... especially to a company like Apple. If Apple bought Sony they would inherit the BR as well as the factories that Sony has... I seriously doubt that they would sell for 26bil. |
sony does not own blue ray, apple actually owns part of it already, fun thing about consortiums. Sonys problem is debt, which is quickly wiping out assets in terms of fend of take overs, and your right i doubt it would sell for 26 B either, but say 50b a combined stock cash sell could happen, though to another asian company id bet, with there list of tangible assets and despite mounting debt, they are very attractive for a buy and slash right now.
I would not be surprised to see someone buy sony spin off so close the less profitable parts. Im just pointing out right now apple has the cash and the leverage to make the deal, I feel it would be a fools deal for apple mainly due to the increased scrutiny of the government for vertical integration by owning one of the big 4 music labels, and a conflict of interest for jobs until he retires to be on Disney board and over sony which has sony pictures. so i do not see it as good for apple
where owning take 2, EA, acti-blizz comes with much fewer of those risks, and a good back catalog.
