Resistance 2 will not be able to reach 2.6 million although it is from a huge genre, the genre might be diluted but none the less shooters sell well.

I won't say that higher install base = higher sales absolutely, otherwise MGS4 wouldn't have outsold MGS3....but ToD DID release when the PS3 was still $500 and the userbase just wasn't *that* high
