I read your post and I must say I disagree... choices for Ipods never hurt.... Especially color choices.
I agree multiple SKUs is bad, but multiple colors is a completely different thing.
Back in the day Alienware got real popular because of color choices, they had everything from White, Black, Blue, Purple, Orange, etc... color choices are good. Even the Gamecube, Gameboy, and DS all had multiple colors.

I also still say the single color people want most on their electonics is Black... not White... just becuase you think its "elegant" doesn't mean everyone does. If I could pay $50 to upgrade my 360 to black I would. If I could get a Black Wii I would.

How many Home theater components do you see in White? tvs, speakers, recievers, etc. If white was the color everyone wanted then you would see a lot more or someone would realease one and make a killing. I agree Black can be overwhelming (like you said on a wall) but on a electronic device its smalll its much different than a wall.

I have listed reasons by which it would be a negative factor.  If you think differently, then continue to do so.  I have no interest in convincing you otherwise.

As a side note about electronics, I regularly see black, white, and silver electronics.  This diversity is most keenly represented in computer cases.

As a side note about the DS, didn't we just see an article a while back on vgChartz about certain DS colors being mocked by a vendor?
