1, PSP 1000 is fat PSP 2000 is light and PSP 3000 is bright
2. use headphones and they're good sounding it sounds better than my Ipod (my ipod is Ipod nano)

BUT this is alot cheaper and works 100% 
4. you do need to buy it, and like Son1x sez , only PSP 2000 and PSP 3000 can use this feature
