IMO if you consider Metacritic scores, they have to be considered by plateform only. You don't compare the general score of the 360 vs PS3 like you wouldn't compare the score of the ps3 vs the DS..
EX: A given game on a given console might have a great score because the console "would" lack of that kind of genre particulary. While games on the other plateform would get a lower score because the catalogue for that same genre is already in good supply. To me a Halo Wars got an ok score because it suffered from the C&C competition already, otherwise it would have reached the 90% no problem.
To me, this kind of calulaction is biased and doesn't make sens UNLESS if you calculate a "weighting" (not sure it is the right word in english) over the total score generated over the entire catalogue of games.
... otherwise it is biased "statisctics" and you reach any conclusions regarding your preferencez or whatever you are trying to prove...

Well, the PS3 and DS are very different. The DS has a touch screen and is far weaker, while the PS3 has more buttons, sixaxis, high definition, and a lot more power. The PS3 and 360 are pretty much identical, in game range and power (arguably). The 360 has no Sixaxis, but that's easy to remedy: either put no sixaxis at all, or have it only on the PS3 version.
So, it's perfectly fair to compare games on the two consoles, as they are largely geared towards the same audience.
Command and Conquer did not affect Halo Wars. Halo Wars is better in every conceivable way, and I think it's an insult to Ensemble that you consider their game anything like EA's piece of rubbish. By your logic, Halo 3 should have scored in the 80s, because Lost Planet and CoD3 were already out. Halo 3 was better than both of them (perhaps better than both combined), and so it reviewed extremely well. Halo Wars was a console RTS, so it reviewed well but not fantastically.
And I'm not arguing that Metacritic is any measure of quality, it's just that it's the one that 360 fanboys always seem to use (other than sales) so I wanted to twist it to show that the PS3 can actually beat the 360 on Metacritic.
