Because PKMN titles are developed by a non-Nintendo-owned studio. The studio may be second-party, but they still aren't owned by Nintendo.

Pokemon IS owned by Nintendo.

 

 

Where did I say Pokemon wasn't? I said the DEVELOPERS aren't owned by Nintendo.
