Metroid/Zero Mission is the first and Fusion is the last. The ship she had in Fusion is the ship from Super Metroid, the new one she gets in Fusion is completely new. I don't know what happens to her ship from MP3 because that's the only game it's appeared in so far.

That's what I was referring to. I know the ship she had at the start of fusion is the same gunship she had in Super Metroid, and which Smash Bros. trophies say she's had ever since she took up bounty hunting. She also has that same ship in Prime and Echoes. But that's clearly not the same ship she had in Corruption. The ship in Corruption bears a resemblance to the one in Fusion, though, especially in the manner in which it lands.

I know the popular timeline has Fusion being last, with the Prime games taking place before Super Metroid, but the ship is out of place: if she really had that gunship until its destruction, then why isn't she using it in Corruption? Of course, if that's the ship she got in Fusion, how did she get back into the Federation, and what happened to Adam? I'm probably just overthinking an art choice, but the ships don't fit the popular timeline.

Thats one reason why I talk about their being no Metroids because they would kick ZS butt. They are annoying enough in full battle gear.

I kind of see it as a game where she loses the suit (like in the 1st 2 primes) and never gets it back until late in the game (like someone suggested above).

Or it could be a game where Samus is in a human/alien city and is seperated from her gear and ship. She is being hunted all over the city. I also think of it as more a living active world too (like any major city on Earth).

Those would be interesting ideas, and while they'd be a departure from the Metroid formula so was Fusion. Plus, if you can have a Zelda game without Zelda, why not have a Metroid game without Metroid?
