E3 and other gaming events have turned into a fanboy's war since internet overtook other media. I mean, back in the day I was glad to see what Nintendo had announced, but like in the next issue of the magazine or even better, on the TV show that aired 3 times a week.

Now those are meaningless and people are now able to voice their opinions, fears and emotions at forums, blogs, etc. With the introduction of internet as a better and faster way of getting information, came the fans which never really discussed so fiercely about gaming because they could only do it with a friend or two. Now these discussions bring over people from around everywhere and there's a lot of different stances. Fanboys and people who like gaming in general will always have a preference deep inside them. It's at E3 where all hopes are either crushed or materialized, so tension grows as the date closes in and as info surfaces. Info that gives fanboys the rights to brag or info that gives fanboys the rights to mock the other consoles. And this cycles accelerates itself geometrically as E3 closes in.

I admit I am part of this, it's almost inevitable once you are caught into the hype.
