A huge gamble it is, that's for sure. It could end up being the best game in the series, it could end up being the worst game in the (main) series. Right now I'm leaning towards it being good (I've read quite a lot and I've also played the demo) but I'm a bit worried about the game's story (mainly thanks to XII but also due to games having boring storylines these days).
Oh, and while that previous 'huge gamble' meant quality, it also applies to sales. It is guaranteed to sell well, however considering how expensive it has been to make, it must sell not only well but almost extraordinarily well. Otherwise it'll be very bad for Square Enix.
