I see Sony touched a soft spot. I don't remember Nintendo ever responding to Sony's stupid pr talk before.

Contrary to what this article's author said, Iwata wasn't responding to Sony...

it came out of nowhere, huh.

Well, I guess we could go with the stupid answer.

Or we could realize that this is"the official translation of Mr Iwata's introduction to the May 1st launch of the Wii-no-ma video service in Japan."

I reckon that, in trying to get new media on your new video service, it might help to point out to media studios that the Wii stays connected, is used by 3.4 people per household, and that the userbase is very diverse. That would jive with the quote "As those TVs has spread much enough, many people gained reason to stay in the living room in order to enjoy watching TV which is better than those in their personal rooms. It also gave a chance to Wii to change the living room into a playfield with quite a new style." Especially when the rest of the talk emphasizes how the Wii can be used alongside said television programming.

But, y'know, maybe I'm wrong, and Iwata's decided to sling dirt with some Sony exec from lord-knows-where.

Edit: On a re-read, this post came off more harsh than intended. I wasn't insinuating that your original statement was idiotic, only that your response was specious, and tried to make my post look stupid.
