yeah, most of the posts seem to be complaints on other games rather than pokemon itself 

 

But I difference that I noticed on newer versions of pokemon is that the battle sequeces were slower than R/B/Y and S/G. Even if you removed the animations it was still slow. I think that's one of the reasons some people hate pokemon.
