I enjoy my Wii, but it is definitely my least favorite Nintendo console I've ever owned.  I liked it a lot at first, then the novelty wore off and I lost interest (I have many friends who lost interest as well), now I'm back to playing it once in awhile.  I'm very picky about what I buy for the Wii.  Mostly, I look for something that's different from what I can get on my PS3.  Things such as Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart and the forthcoming EA games with WM+ interest me, but I have no desire to own Wii Fit and have barely touched Wii Sports.  IMO, the Nintendo brand is moving away from me and I don't feel as if the console is really marketed towards me.

Does it matter how any console is "marketed" when determining your personal playing habits. Core gamers are usually above being moved by mere marketing.

By that logic, no one should have bought the PS3 for the first few years, because it was being marketed to space aliens and horror movie fans.

I don't think that we, as intelligent consumers and fans of the industry, should be moved by the marketing of a game.

Reviews, sure, fun/quality, of course, intended audience, certainly...but not marketing. That's like saying the PS3 sucks because I don't like the commercials.

As for Nintendo themselves, they should have spaced out their 1st party games a little better. It would headed off the casual stigma to a point, if Brawl, for instance, were to be released tomorrow, or Galaxy. As it stands now, E3 08 had a very negative effect on the brand inside the entheusiast press, and therefore, most core gamers, who get their opinions straight from the pages of IGN, are also hoping for the console to fail.

Nintendo has always been the target of hate. Last gen they were the "kiddy" console, and this gen they are ruining gaming. Never ends. The DS is, in my opinion, the best console on the market this gen, if the software sells well or not(it does, btw, see top selling software), it(software) still exists, which isn't something I can claim for most of its competitors.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
