Am I the only person who respects Nintendo as a dev but not a console maker

Nintendo brought the D-Pad, Shoulder buttons, analog stick, force feedback and now IR pointing, soon to be 1:1 motion control, split controller and an inbuilt speaker and inbuilt memory to the table. I think their greatest hardware achievements can be seen in their controllers.

@Prof: you can't be truly innovative and successfull every time.  Your points about wireless and rumble are kind pointless.  Nintendo innovated and Sony incorporated these ideas and were accredited with creating the standard simply because they beat Nintendo to the market for the start of the following generation.  If Nintendo had fully incorporated these technologies into newer versions of their existing hardware they would have risked alienating the exisiting userbase. Now something doesn't necessarily have to be innovative or original to be great but you have to give credit to Nintendo for innovation.  I would hate to see where the industry would be without them.
