Well GT3 sold 15 million when the console was fairly new. Perhaps great PS2 games like MGS2, FFX, and GTA3 actually moved the consoles while people purchased GT3 because it was the only good racing option available.

GT4 sold 10 million when the console had already sold about 100 million units. That's about 33%  drop off in sales compared to its predecessor. But by then there were also a lot of great racing games such as Need For Speed Underground.

You get what I'm saying? Games like FFXIII and MGS4 will sell the console. While GT5 will only sell well because its the best racing option available for people who ALREADY own the PS3. No guarantee it'll actually move hardware.

Edit:

In a nutshell Sony makes gravy while 3rd party companies make the games people actually want.

Gran Turismo will move hardware - A.

B. You edit was unecessary trolling, if that were the case, then why are Sony fans ALWAYS accused of "overhyping" Sony games, because they don't "actually" want them? Still, most of your post is opinionated, come back when ANY of it proves true.

So are you disagreeing with the rest of my post? You don't think the mega popular 3rd party games in some form helped Gran Turismo be a success?
